Outlander (tv) again!
I watched what I think is the last episode of this series on Starz yesterday.....wow, is all I can say.....as I was watching these intensely heavy bloody and sexual scenes all I could think of was ....how do actors do this so convincingly! Wonder how many retakes it took to get it right...it is/was a definitely ADULT series........Clare and Jamie are off to France.....now I'm hooked...may go to the library and get the novel(s).......to follow their adventure. Or does the written story end there too?

I bought the whole series. I started with the Outlander when my son was in story hour at the local library. (He is now 20 years old.) I bought the first 4 books. Then , as each book came out, I bought the hardcover books so I have them all. I have read them several times. I love the story. The TV series is wonderful. I was amazed at how close they followed the book in the frist few but then they put a different spin on it. That is good too. I was fortunate to meet Diana Gabaldon in Davenport Iowa in December 2014 along with Graham McTavish who plays Dougal McKenzie. It was wonderful!!!!!!!!! What a perfect way to spend a weekend!

I love those books & have read the series many times over; Diana Gabaldon is my favorite author. I was excited to learn that a tv series was being made from the books but, unfortunately, we don't get Starz. I've been complaining about it ever since!

I never heard of this author...just started watching the series one night when there was nothing else on, then got hooked....Now I have ordered the second book from the library....apparently it will be back on Starz next year! Continuing the series of books, I guess...

Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series is my favorite, too. My mom started listening to them on tape (yes tape) when she had her knee replacement. Since I had small children in the house, listening to tapes wasn't an option, so I started reading the books.. (They are really large books, by the way!) Couldn't put them down. Love every one. I've always hated coming to the end of a book and wondering what happens after the book ends. With this series, you can follow them for 30+ years, see their children, and grandchildren. It's an epic fantasy romance. I borrow them from our local library which is just 6 blocks away. I've been known to read one in less than 10 days, which is quite a feat for me. Many of the books are nearly 1000 pages.
If you are going to listen to them, be sure to get the unabridged versions. I once borrowed Outlander on audio for a road trip I was taking by myself, and there was SO MUCH missing from the storyline in the abridged version. If I hadn't already read the books, I wouldn't have noticed. The typical unabridged audio has 38 disks and 45 hours of listening time.
