I am just curious why so many people on this site put they are in hididng? If you live in New Jersey and you put New Jersey, nobody will be able to find you. I just don't understand. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Some don't know how to change it. It is in the Profile section and when some sign up they probably don't realize that is what they are changing. Others want to be 'hiding' because they are in swaps and secret pal swaps.

I believe I went into Microsoft Word and looked up a picture and then I had to save it in my pictures. Then I down loaded it to my avatar.

Moving things are a bit distracting.

I know that is what happened when I filled out my profile. It took me several attempts to change the 'in hiding' to my state. Some may not realize that they can change it.

"in hiding" is the default when people join the board. It can take awhile before they wander into their profile and figure out how to change it. (Took me about a year......)

I agree! I at least like to know what part of the country people are in!
