I just got an email from PepsiCo saying they're hiring aggressively. This was in response to my Monster resume, so it's legit. I'm in IT, but they didn't mention IT. Looks like they're hiring for all kinds of positions in lots of locations.

I was contacted by them a while ago and every once in a while I receive a listing, but never anything that pertains to my field. The list of jobs available is so long, it doesn't look real to me. I even had a phone interview and they told me to expect an appointment for an in person interview. I am still waiting for it. Sounded very fishy to me.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience, Maride, but I think it's probably due more to inept HR people than suspect conduct on Pepsi's part. They're too big to post fake job listings. I would call them and follow up, follow up, follow up. Make yourself know (in a friendly way) to those recruiters!
