Kathy - like I said - volunteer - its like the guy who got mad that we didn't weed eat around the goals this past Saturday - I asked him for help he said he was busy and my first thought was every member on our board is busy they have a job; life; husband/wife; kids and family....

I get it and am not bashing the volunteers - I just don't understand it - I try real hard to make it so the moderators don't have to fix or move my stuff and I feel like the kid who can't do it right this week!

Thank you for the info. I don't visit the PDA section because I thought it was for people who did daily diaries. (Like a blog, but housed on quiltingboard.) Since I do my own blog elsewhere, I never read there.

Now that I know what is really on the PDA section, I'll visit more often.

That happened to me too. I put a picture up of my Great Aunt who had passed away. I do not have a PDA and do not want to start one. Well someone decided to move it to a PDA. I do not want my first PDA to be of my Aunt's death. So I have decided to not be on here much anymore. I have been having trouble with the site and no one has responed to my email.
Good Luck!

I do well to read the unread topics, don't read the diaries section, so I guess I miss a lot.

if you have a problem with a topic moving or deletion or whatever you can discuss it with the one who moved it and find out why or plead your case or whatever, it's not carved in stone and can be changed,
we're not trying to throw our weight(buttons) around. ;)
But the nice thing about reading these stories is that we get to meet/make new friends on this board.

OK Usually I will walk away and not say anything but it seems everyone else does so here goes. ROFL. I have a PDA, obvioulsy not real private if thousands can read it, but it is fun and we do chat in there about anything and everything. I am trying to get more people to go to that section and read the posts they may like. And a member would not dare post something negative on one of our posts in there. Seriously. I used to never post on the Main board except for sales. Then I ventured out. JMHO, I like posting in my PDA because I show pictures and share topics and don't have to worry about the negalholics joining in. My friends find me in PDA and not the others. So it is a good thing too,.

When you put topics on the main board, you are opening up yourselves to others opinions, some good, some "break out the flying monkey" remarks. SO if you want to start a topic and feel sure those negaholics will stay away. Post in PDA. We watch each others backs in there. LOL. PDA is a good section.

TO make a positive out of this post before it gets "lost", I would say, if your topic gets moved, follow it and let people know. YOu can't fight the system, we don't pay for it, it is free and we have no choice but to roll with the flow or leave this great QB board. And I personally am not leaving. They'll have to drag me out by my toes. ROFL

P.S. YOu don't get deleted unless you delete something yourself in your own PDA. Only you have the delete button. And the moderators. PLease read the PDA section more. Right now we have been watching Mare Stare and have seen two foals born already. Number three is pending, but we watch her and chat. It's a whole new world.

Ok off my pedastool. Hope I have your curiousity up.
I like posting on the main board and meet lots of people and since one of my topics was moved recently, quite a few have found me in there. LOL. Where there's a will, there's a way. HUGS♥♥♥

From what I have seen the confusion lies around the words neutral

- Positive or neutral events in your life or your surroundings that you feel would be of interest to others.
- Positive or neutral announcements, such as birthdays, weddings, etc.

Topics including death, illness, family issues (quarrels, etc) are asked to be put into a PDA.

Death announcements, and some about illnesses are usually left in GCC for 24 hours before being moved to the PDA section.

Many of you are too new to know about why the PDA section was created. It was to keep the GCC area on a more positive note :D

PDA stands for Personal (information), Diaries(typical diary or blog like info), and Announcements(deaths, illness, prayer requests, etc).

Like Debbie said, people will follow you there, read your PDA and contribute to the topics discussed there :D:D:D

You do have to subscribe to the PDA section to get it to appear on your home page or unread topics. But, you have to subscribe to other sections too, so that they also appear in your lists here :D

To subscribe, click on the Home button at the top of the page, scroll down and click on All User-Defined Topic Lists. You can then choose what you do and don't want to subscribe too.

Created to keep the Gcc area more positive?????

Ok I know what you are are saying but we are also not saying that the PDA section is all negative either. Some folks don't like to read about death or family issues etc. These are not negative issues to some of us but part of life as it is.

With all due respect, if we move everything "negative" into the PDA section, then it will be lost too. The PDA section is not a catchall for negative posts, sad, etc. It can be and is a wonderful place to share on a more personal level.

Ok PatriceJ, help me out here. YOu know what I am trying to say.

I should have worded this a little differently Debbie
It was not my intention to make this section sound like it is all subjects that are not upbeat and positive.

I have a PDA and we have had a lot of fun joking in there too.. it is a place to have fun as well as talk about lifes other side. I visit other PDAs and there are all kinds of topics being discussed, I enjoy them all :D:D:D
