Okay, I have to toot my own horn! I entered the Alaska Fly Fishers photo contest (yep, I'm a member). There were 4 catagories, "Just the Fish," "Spirit of Fly Fishing," "Wildlife and Nature," "Creative," plus a people's choice and a best of show.

    I guess I did okay.

I won the "Creative" category with my "Psycho Beadheads." (This one missed the People's Choice by one second choice vote)

I won the "Spirit of Fly Fishing" with my "All in a Row."

I won the "Just the Fish" category with "Quality Control"

I won the "Best of Show" with my "Old Man's Memories"!!!

I love the old man memories and congratulations on your winning not one but so many categories. You must be a photographer during your non quilting moments? I thought ah a quilt inspector gone fish inspector when the cat and fish came up.. poor cat has to work two jobs just to make ends meet.

I can't say fly fishing is an interest of mine, but I sure can appreciate the quality of your photos. What kind of camera do you use for your pictures? SLR? Digital?

    Thanks, all.
I have a Canon digital Rebel. One of the "older" ones.
I do have fun taking photos. Have to admit, the learning curve got a lot steeper once the digital entered my life. :-)

I'd like to know what you think they're stuck into. It's only cork... :)

BTW the last one is really beautiful! I keep going back to look at it - gets the arm image out of my head too! Hope you don't take offence, none meant! :-D

Wow those are awesome. Framers for sure.
I'm a fisherwoman too. I fish for Large Mouth Bass. Probably
don't see to many of those in Alaska. They are warm water fishies. Though not easy to pick a favorite I really like the picture with the fishing poles. You are an awesome photographer. Congrats on the winnings.

Yes, it is. It's a Sitka blacktail my husband shot on Kodiak Island. A rather nice one.

In the cat picture, the things hanging are salmon fillets which have been in the smoker and were drying. I took that on a friend's houseboat in Halibut Cove. He gave me a case of the salmon to bring home, and I have to tell you, it is some of the best canned smoked salmon I have ever had.
