Default Picture of a beautiful Snowy Owl

I took this picture of a snowy owl yesterday and just had to share. We haven't had any snow this winter in this part of Kansas but for some reason or other, these little birds are all around this city.

It was featured on the news the other day about the snowy owls showing up much further south than their regular range. It is probably due to a sudden decrease in food and an over population of owls in the arctic. The younger owls are looking for food and territory. We have had them appear here in Washinton too but I haven't seen one yet (but definitely looking). Great picture.
