Long time since I wrote...but wanted to tell folks I've finally completed cutting out fabrics for quilt on the cover of Simple Graces by Kim Diehl, called Pie in the Sky. Only instead of 6 X 8 blocks, will be 10 X 10 blocks. My ONLY attempt at king size ever. Used Distry FQ Sampler & Garden Quilter's Candy FT, PLUS another FQ collection of "butterscotch" and similar and another version of the Quilters Candy. A few fabric duplications is all. It is going to be SO much fun mixing colors...three colors per block. If you are interested, center looks like ohio star 'tilted' within churn-dash, within 3rd color. Sashing is 2" blocks joined, one row inside quilt, two rows on outer edge. I want it to looks like the colors of fall, beautiful leaf-peepers and blue sky and fall florals...all mixed together.
I'd asked my hubby which of a few he liked best, and this was his pick. But he DID admit, the cute cat on it in the photo was what especially caught his eye...grey tabby with white socs, bib, moustache and wiskers! (smile) :D

Well, I've only completed cutting out the zillions of pieces...
So when I do get some squares sewn together I will post.
Maybe you folks can keep me going...this looks like it will
take my entire life to me right now! My grandkids are in
town today from out of state, so will not be sewing today.
I'm anxious to get sewing started. I want to get some of
the RUBY LENS glasses folks say are helpful for viewing
the fabric's values more accurately, than just colors alone.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WHERE TO GET THESE? I looked but
all were over $100. That is NOT happening. ANY ideas?

Check out red plastic, transparent folders for school papers. They are less than one dollar.

Ruby Lens for $100? You've GOT to be kidding. Totally outrageous, I got mine for $3. Go back and tell them that you don't want to buy stock in the company. mannem has the right idea.

Oh, THANK YOU! This site always helps me out with really practical ideas. What would I do without all of you?

Rut row...I ran in and asked my grandkids about one of those folders. I know what you are talking about, but apparently they do not...just shook their heads and look confused. Do they still make those? Is it a wally-world item? I appreciate your help!
