My dad's family have twins every third generation. My grandfather had twin cousins both girls Viola and Violet. Then my uncle and his wife had twins Jarren and Jerald fraternal twins.

I always wanted to be a twin or have twins but it was not to be. So my kids were all together for a family dinner and my DD and one DIL were pregnant. The subject of twins came up. My DD said her DH was in Chiro college they couldn't afford to have twins. My DIL said this was her last of 4 pregnancies and they didn't need to have twins so they all agreed that when Glen(my youngest) got married he and his future wife could have the twins. So 5 yrs later Glen is married and she was pregnant. Guess what she had twin boys!! Fraternal twins. Daymon and Devon. Now 6 yrs old!

But the story isn't over yet. My twin cousin Jarren and his wife had twin boys just 5 mos before our twins were born. They resemble our twins alot. My grandsons and my first cousin's twins. It is amazing how much they resemble each other considering how far apart they are and the one blonde twin each takes after the mother who are both inlaws.

so here is my pics of these 3 sets of twins

I don't have pix of all of them on my computer but I have identical twin sisters, mom had a twin brother, Dad had identical twin cousins, mom had a set of identical twin great nieces, plus there's at least 4 more sets in mom and dad's families. Years ago when I was taking fertility drugs trying desparately to conceive, I asked my doc about multiple births. He said that I wasn't on a strong enough dosage for that. Then he said, "Surely you don't want twins." I answered, "Nope, that's been done in my family so many times it's old hat. I want triplets." Didn't happen.

My Mom has identical twin sisters, she had identical twin uncles, and my Dad was a fraternal twin. We have some weird genes though. My Mom only had sisters and all of us have only one gender children. All four of us!! 3 of us have only boys, and my one brother has onlyl girls. And now his daughter has all boys and my other brother's son has all boys. My Dad did have 2 sisters though, and 9 brothers!!! Strange!!! :D

Love it everyone! I guess I am fascinated with twins. I always wanted to be one but never happened. I am an only and crave siblings but there is just me!! My dad used to introduce me as the oldest and the youngest and all 10 kids rolled up into one!
But I have noone to be close to and noone to go visit. so I guess twins are a ready made friend in my eyes. I hope our twins stay close as they grow up! Right now they are 6 1/2 and have a strange love/tolerate relationship! LOL They talk in we and they are a package deal but at the same time they fight and they are tyical BROTHERS with all the rough and ready that goes with that! One loves to hug and the other one hates it! LOL Devon says Grandma he wants to hug me ALL the time!! So aggravated! LOL and Daymon is impulsive with his hugging his brother! LOL They came to an agreement tho they tell me that Daymon will ask before he hugs! LOL Too cute! They each have their own class and friends at school so it isnt an identity thing. They each get parental individual attention alot.

Rhonda, in my family it seems that it depended on if they were identical or not as to behavior. The identicals were/are very much alike but my Dad and his fraternal twin were like day and night in every way with the exception that they both had great family loyalty. My Dad and his sister looked like twins- he and his twin looked nothing alike. So funny!!
I prayed NOT to have twins :D One at a time was plenty for me LOL
And I think Viola and Violet is too cute! Reminds me of the sisters in How To Make An American Quilt- Hyacinth and ??? Darn, I forgot Anne Bancroft's name! And I've seen that movie over and over!!!!!!
