Default PJ dilemma

Buyer's remorse? After hunting for these "sewing print" target special pj's and wearing them three nites I've have been faced with this strange thing. The buttons do not stay in the buttonholes! And it's not that the top is not snug..they just unbutton from tossing/ turning during the nite. I'm really an nightgown person, but the few pjs I do have are pull over head top--- so I'm thinking should I just sew the top closed up the front and have buttons there as deco..there's enough room for head to come thru opening. My DDH, who always wore men's button top pjs never had his buttons undo by themselves.....
anyone else experiencing this?

Sounds as if the button holes are just too big, you can shorten them by taking needle & thread ( or use small zigzag on machine) and stitching at each end to make them shorter. Easy fix.

I like a pullover PJ so I'd probably just sew it shut.

Yes, as, I did think if that..or larger buttons too! I'll try the easy fix first, then see what happens

I don't know why button holes aren't put in horizontal instead of vertical. With vertical they always pull out or gap.

I'd make the button holes smaller. Then go from there.

Would you hand stitch the buttonholes so they would be smaller??

I would just hand stitch both ends of the buttonholes to make them smaller and tighter around the button.

***
*** 1. shorten the button holes
*** 2. change to larger buttons
*** 3. sew the top shut

I ALWAYS sew up the front of my button-up pajamas!! Before I even wear them. Never even occurs to me not to, hahaha!
