I'm so sorry this happened to you. We always use the power strips in our home, but I can remember when we used to use those type of cords. You're so right, it just isn't worth it to try and save a few dollars. I hope your insurance will take care of your damage, but I know some things just can't be replaced.

I'm so sorry!!!! I had a house fire one time because of MY stupidity (walked away from a pan on the stove with grease). My insurance company, State Farm, was outstanding!!! Hope your company is like mine!

And THANK YOU for the warning!!!!

I'll be fine. My insurance adjuster has been an absolute love! We have Concord Group and they are being amazing! One thing is I've realized is that I have a problem. I seriously need to get into a program for quilting addicts! LOL Counted my yardage just in the sunroom and it came up to 208 yards, not including fusibles, threads, rulers, mats, etc. LOL This was just a small portion of what I have, dang when someone posted a while back asking about how much stash you had I said 400 yards. NOT!!! :D Totally underestmated this one.

I think, I seriously need a 12 step program here. And the thing is in the past I'd say 6 months I've been good with my purchases. LOL You know, sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself. Serious issues here!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. As you say no one seems to have been hurt, which is the most important, but your loss is great.
