Awesome pumpkins! Did you use a stencil on "End of the Trail".. or freehand? I have done pumpkins with people's brands on them before too. My house burned down (up?) in 2003 and I lost my album FULL of pumpkins I've done since 1984. I did a Ghost Buster series (Slimer was a riot). For some reason carving pumpkins was always really hard for me.. so when I started to paint them.. I went nuts. |
Thanks... great idea.

I used craft paint, the kind you buy in small bottles at Micheal's.

very nice work! Please post more pics of ones you paint!

I wish i could do that.

Thanks for showing us what type of paint you use. Looks like I have a good excuse for a Hobby Lobby or Joanns trip. Now where did I put those coupons?

Thanks! I'll use most any type of of craft paint, but Ceramcoat is the most reliable IMO. I don't fret if I buy a paint (on sale) I don't care for... I'll just use it up as a base coat on something. Some of my ceramcoat paints are 12-15 yrs old, and as long as you clean their top before sealing they stay pretty darn good. A couple I had to put some water in, but I was very pleased that some of my oldest colors still had some life left in them.
ANYONE CAN PAINT PUMPKINS... just start with basic shapes. I did post another link with my final 3 painted pumpkins on it. I finished them up over the weekend. Here they are - http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-160992-1.htm Enjoy!! |
