(like we need a reason!)...

Saw this in a magazine so just had to share -

1. It insulates the cupboard where it is kept.

2. It keeps the "economy" moving, it is my duty to support cotton farmers, textile mills and fabric shops.

3. It is less expensive and more fun than psychiatric care.

4. It's a contest - the one who dies with the most fabric wins.

5. It keeps without refrigeration, you don't have to cook it to enjoy it, you'll never have to feed it, change it, wipe it's nose or walk it.

6. Like dust, it's good for "protecting" previously empty spaces in the house, like the ironing board, laundry basket, the dining room table etc.

7. It's not immoral, illegal or fattening. It calms the nerves, gratifies the soul and makes me feel good.

8. Because it's on "SALE".

9. Because I'm worth it.

10. And buy it now, before your husband retires and goes with you on all your shopping expeditions!!

I've let DH accompany me once or twice to the sawmill to order/pick up rough lumber and he has to stay in the truck.

#11. Buy it now because it is lower in price than it will be in the future which makes it a good investment!

my husband loves to pick out fabric can't say he is really good at it but he is great at telling if two fabrics meet and can date or if they will clash if they go out

I love this!! May I add one? I buy now & stock up as much as I possibly can...I call it preparing for retirement. Yep investing in my future. Sounds logical to me & my DH is totally on board with this. Only problem is that I am quickly running out of room to store it all. LOL

Act on #10 ASAP. My hubby wants to tag along but doesn't understand why it takes hours to buy a couple of yards of fabric.

QUILTNMO 11-01-2011 05:04 AM

lindy 11-01-2011 05:46 AM

#11. Because my Dh (not darling) just did something that pissed me off. i'm buying a new, very expensive sewing machine as soon as i get to AZ, too!

crafty pat 11-02-2011 10:34 AM

I can think of a new one. It is a good way to get a new larger house as my stash is pushing us out of this one.

Tinabug 11-02-2011 10:43 AM

This really made me laugh out loud!!

roflmbo! ;oD

athomenow 11-02-2011 12:48 PM

Acquiring a stash while working is really important. I didn't do that and now the money isn't available for shopping very often. Let's see health insurance or fabric? That's what it comes down to. Stock up now!

heberstitcher 11-02-2011 12:57 PM

Ok, my husband and I have been retired almost 3 years now, can anyone tell me why he has now decided he wants to grocery shop with me, asking "do we need that?" why don't you buy the store brand rather than the national brand?" etc. etc.etc. He definitely needs a hobby or I may end up in jail!!!!!
