I saw this on http://www.patchwork-and-quilting.co...tml#collecting and just had to share it with you. I thought it just too funny and hope you will as well.

10 Good Reasons to Buy Fabric

1. It insulates the cupboard where it is kept.

2. It keeps the "economy" moving, it is my duty to support cotton farmers, textile mills and fabric shops.

3. It is less expensive and more fun than psychiatric care.

4.It's a contest - the one who dies with the most fabric wins.

5.It keeps without refrigeration, you don't have to cook it to enjoy it, and you'll never have to feed it, change it, wipe its nose or walk it.

6.Like dust, it's good for "protecting" previously empty spaces in the house, like the ironing board, laundry basket, the dining room table etc.

7. It's not immoral, illegal or fattening. It calms the nerves, gratifies the soul and makes me feel good.

8.Because it's on "SALE."

9.Because I'm worth it.

10. And buy it now, before your husband retires and goes with you on all your shopping expedition.

(I speak from personal experience that number 10 is really TRUE----and husbands don't seem to particularly like fabric stores  )

Only ten!..it's so easy to find 100 more reasons...
I'll start, because I need them, because I want them, because I want them, because I want them... :) :)

There are a million reasons to buy fabric!!! Are there any not to? (I guess the money thing is one)

My DH likes to go to the fabric store with me and always asks when we're doing errands if I need to get anything while I'm out of the house. How cool is that?

same here - DH does the driving and takes me to all the fabric stores!! and never says a word about what I buy!
(we've been married 44+ years and I'm gonna keep him!)
and he takes me to look at/buy my old Singer vintage machines..... aaaaaaaand he has made his own lap quilt.....

Mine enjoys waiting in the car and listening to music (sometimes snoozes too). Never complains, does encourage stimulating the economy in this way...

Because they first talk to and then scream at me "Take me home. I'm LONELY and would look lovely with all you other purples, blues, greens, what have you ......." Because I want to see how many different ________________ (whatever color) I can buy and have on hand.

I agree, with the exception of #5...I do have to feed mine! I feed it fat quarters weekly! LOL

I love those reasons. Number three is especially true for me. The first thing my kids ask when they get home is did you have time to sew today. If it's a yes they know the evening will go better.

Add to the reasons ----
"Because the voices tell me to" (The fabrics are talking to me again)
