16 fabric circles equals 1 Christmas tree

Our quilt group was recently challenged to make a Christmas item and one of the ladies came up with a cute fabric Christmas tree. I thought it was so sweet that I just had to have one. In fact I am going to make 3. I have cut out my 48 circles, put a running stitch in them and now just need to pull them in and tie them off. A job to do in front of tv tonight. I may even glue some small beads as decorations.

I love it, just don't know what to use for the spike in the middle. Where did you all find that or is there a suitable substitution?

jitkaau 11-05-2012 04:06 AM

themachinelady 11-05-2012 07:52 AM

What do you use for the spike? I didn't see that mentioned in your tutorial. Is it a nail or what? Thanks for the info.

ptquilts 11-05-2012 11:13 AM

I could see putting some thin ribbon on it in swags. Cute idea.

lfstamper 11-05-2012 11:15 AM

Darling tree = perfect for a table arrangement!

mjhaess 11-05-2012 12:37 PM

Great idea and cute too...

mommabear62 11-05-2012 04:42 PM

I got to glance this morning at your tutorial for this adorable tree but didn't have the time to really get the whole way thru. Now I can't find it in the tutorial. I went into the archive and still couldn't find it. Would it be a big inconvenience to send it to my email address? If that is possible my email address is [email protected]

Thanks so much.

Connie
