2012 Iditarod
Saturday marked the beginning of the Iditarod. It was a very snowy day here, but that doesn't stop a lot of people from showing up to cheer for all the teams, the loudest for their favorite. My friend has a place right on the route, so viewing the start is comfortable to say the very least.
Here are a few shots from the day. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...d/IMG_6492.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...d/IMG_6508.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...d/IMG_6523.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3-Version2.jpg The industrial strength pooper-scooper http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...d/IMG_6524.jpg And because it was a "theme" party and the theme was "Dog Food," I give you my contribution, meatloaf disguised as the canned version.:o http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...d/IMG_6475.jpg |
Thanks for the pics,I have watched this great race when ever I seen it on and any program I could see on it as well since I was a little girl. I greatly respect these fine athletes!

You can follow it on iditarod.com. For something like $20 you can get the insiders report and emails to you when your musher does something. I guess it's pretty cool.

My husband subscribes to it on-line and gets VERY wrapped up in it! Great for me- I can quilt all day long in peace and quiet!

When we visited Alaska we went to where someone was raising Iditarod puppies. Very informative. Your first picture is just great ... those dogs LOVE to run. Thanks for posting these pictures.
