Has anyone in Canada/USA purchased a Featherweight 222k from the UK?
I just bought one and it hasn't arrived yet but I am wondering if I should just buy an adapter for the voltage or if I should buy a 110 motor and have the UK motor replaced on it...
If there is anyone out there using the adapter I would love to know what you use..and how you like it...I read it should be 100 watts...could it be more than 100???

and if anyone has knowledge on the motor replacement I would love your input too...is it something I could do...? or is it a complicated process...? I did repair the wiring on a foot petal but that is about it...

I would love to see a picture of your new baby. Do they look ours or is the design a little different?

I think either of your suggestions would work so it may be a matter of cost. I'd love a 222. I keep looking but so far I haven't had any luck. One is advertised on Kijiji but he wants $1200 and that is a little pricey for me.

Wow, congratulations. I have a 222K (made in Kilbowie) so it has the 220/240 voltage motor. I am pretty sure that there are converters, but you would have to weigh up whether you wanted to carry round an extra piece of equipment, compared to having a motor that would work with your supply.

I see the one for $1200...way out of my price point too...they are so expensive...I am taking a gamble on this purchase from afar but I sure hope it is ok...pics shown a machine in good condition, not pristine and perfect but decent...shipping is very expensive...we managed to find a reasonable rate of about 60 pounds and I have no idea if there will added charges when I received item??? We will see....
