Took a walk in my woods and found these beauties. I had never seen a couple of them before.

Enjoy:

Downey Yellow Violet (it has fuzzy stems and leaves)

I also enjoy the regulars in my woods, Trout lilies, May Apples, jack in the Pulpit, ferns and others.

What does every one else enjoy?

We have Blood Root, pretty white flowers, when root is cut it looks like blood. They are the protected list here. They have already bloomed. About the time the early Daffodils bloom. I like the wild violets, several kinds here. I really like all flowers.

so pretty. I haven't seen anything in the woods around here except the honeysuckle , berry vines, and wisteria.

I love wild flowers...On Mother's Day my sons come over with my grandchildren (they take turns bring take-out food) and we go on a wild flower hunt. Of course we end up in the creek and the grandkids get soaked, but we all love it. My boston terriers come along too. It beats going out to dinner by a mile!!!

I'm not a flower expert but the coral honeysuckle in the front draws the hummers so we get double the enjoyment. Llike my roses also. I love a really pretty red rose. We had hibiscus but between our dogs and the neighbors dogs they didn't last long. I was not a happy person. I like dusty miller as a border. Blue Daze is a good low grounder. Neighbors cats got into that and made a bed then did their business in it. That killed my blue daze. I have been known to mow around the wild flowers when they begin to bloom. Adds color.
