5"snow in NM...

https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/mad.png...and I'm not happy. Moved here from MN go get away from snow and cold temps. Every winter it gets colder and the snow....snow is a four letter word in this house. Forgot to mention I'm in the Albuquerque area. The rant is over and I feel a little better but then I closed the blinds so I don't see the white stuff.

Not ready for snow yet! It’s a four letter word for me also.❄️

with a beach in front.

I was so surprised to see snow around Albuquerque area during the winter when I rode with DH when he was driving truck.

we had about 2" of snow and expecting more tomorrow followed by lots of freezing rain/rain. But expecting 60 by Halloween! Crazy midwest weather!

Just checked and so far 196 closings or 2 hour delay openings. I feel like I went to bed and woke up back in the Twin Cities where people KNOW how to drive in snow. Not knocking NM but drivers down here are scary. Just have to hang in there until Saturday where the forecast is back in the 50s

It seems like here in Northern Indiana some of the drivers have to "learn" all over again how to drive in the winter. Sometimes (after the first snow of the season), it has been so bad with all of the mostly minor fender-benders that the police just tell people to exchange insurance info. and not wait for them to show up.

My daughter lives in ABQ and she sent me a pic of her SNOW covered back yard. Also the temp was 22 she said. She lives at the bottom of the Sandias. Just remember you need all the moisture you can get. She was born and raised in WI; so she knows how you feel.

At least it probably won’t be around long!

I can relate. Used to live in White Sands, NM and we didn't get snow but the blowing wind would blow the sand right thru the windows and it got so cold but only for a short period of time. At least it was dry down there. Moved to Florida afterwards and boy what a difference with all that humidity. Now live in Iowa and we got snow the other day which is quite early for us. Plus the temps dropped down to the lower teens. Wouldn't be so bad but having construction done outside....adding a sunroom and its been put to a halt until the temps raise a bit as the guys are older and can't work in that low of temps due to arthritis. May get my sunroom and kitchen done by Spring at this rate. Last week it was all the rain...............we'd been in a drought all summer and now the rains come. Mother Nature sure has a sense of humor.
