:D Where else would you find a jewelry box (forgotten gift to buy for a little lady), a door wreath holder, chocolate covered almonds, coffee creamer and dog treats in one store open this late in a small town? Who knows I may find some last minute bargains. ;) DH is asleep, the dog and cat are snoozing so no one will ever know I'm even out of the house.

I saw on t.v. that some stores are starting a new tradition of staying open 24 hours a day right before Christmas. Macy's in some town was doing it, and others as well. Haven't seen it where I am yet, though (except for Walmart, of course!).

LOL I wish walmart wasn't an hour away or I would do the same!!

I'm amazed at how many people go to Walmart late at night. My daughter and her husband go at midnight and ran into several couples from our church there. They like the quiet and less crowded. I'm asleep before then.

I use to work at walmart on the 11 to 7 shift and I was amazed at how many people shopped at 2 in the morning. I felt really sorry for the little kids that were druged out in the cold at that time of night....

Amazing! I live in a small town too! I love and hate wal-mart.

Waiting on my DD who called and said wait for me I'm going too!

I'm used to going out at night alone and I travel alone a lot (if I waited for DH to want to go I'd never go anywhere) I have a cell, Onstar, and night driving doesn't make me nervous. I know one day I won't be able to go do what I want when I want so I'm doing it while I can. :D

Hope you make it back home in time for Christmas, from what I hear the checkout lines are preeeeety looooong. LOL Be careful, lots of ugliness going on right now. Several people have been acosted here in Houston at different stores, especially women by themselves in parking lots, day and night. So sad....

I love to go to wm either late at night or early in the morning. For a long time I thought that staying open 24 hours was dumb until one of my kids got sick and started running a high fever at 3am and I didn't have any fever reducer at home. I am thankful now.

LOL, Bf and I were there last night at 10:30, doing some last minute shopping!

I am debating on going now...its 3;30am...I tried to get the hubby up, but he is not budging.

I love walmart for all my gifts if I could.

Not on your life!!! Even if I shopped there, I SAW their parking lot last night at 11:30 when I was leaving work and it scared me! :lol: :lol: :lol:

CVS has a lovely array of gift cards if I forgot someone! And Kroger. Kroger has lots of gifty items if you really put some thinking into it...

However, as I am FINISHED (shopping, still have one quilt to quilt) this is not a worry for me....

I'm just on my way to CVS myself. I just need a couple of stocking stuffers, probably food-stuff. I hope to be in and out in a hurry.

Since I've moved to NYC, I miss having Wal-Mart at every corner.

Wow! Our 24-hour Walmart closed at 7 pm and won't reopen until 6 am Sunday morning. Glad the employees got the day off for a change.
