Just a little bit of information for people who sign up for e-mail newsletters.
I think it's pretty common practice to have a "double opt-in" newsletter format, to combat spam. This means that you go to a website, sign up for their newsletter, and then you can expect to see a sign-up confirmation e-mail appear in your mailbox. You have to respond to that confirmation e-mail, in order to actually be added to the mailing list! This prevents anyone (a company or a prankster) from forcibly subscribing you to an e-mail newsletter. Just an FYI ... |
Thanks for the info.
