Accessing the QB and reading posts

How do you go about reading the QB?

I have a "permanent" log in - which I have to redo every time I clear the history on my browser -

just type in "quiltingboard.com" - click on "What's New?" - and read what has been posted since the last time I looked in.

The better part of looking at the "What's New?" posts - I see things that I would never look at if I only clicked on certain sections.

It seldom occurs to me to check out links and resources, tutorials, swaps, etc. on a "that section only" basis.

Do you have favorite sections? do you have sections you routinely ignore?

I share a computer with DH and grands, so I log in every time I visit, which is usually daily. I then start at Main, and work my way down the categories. I usually skip antique machines, organization, and the QB help category, but not always. I can tell at a glance if there's a new thread. I often re-read some posts for inspiration, or motivation. Sometimes I go outside the box and work my way up from the bottom! I love to meander around. I like the personal/announcement section, in that it's personal and members are willing to share to the group, and it's anonymous, supportive, caring, and safe feeling. Sometimes the heartfelt encouragement is just what is needed to lift and brighten my day.

I get a daily reminder that comes into my email at 6 am. It takes me to the most recent threads...I click on Home along the top and it does not require me to login. I can then go into each of the categories Main, Pictures, Challenges, etc. I can honestly say that I would get more quilting done if I didn’t spend so much time on the Quilting Board. LOL

I am always signed in and click on the "recent topics" blue button.

I also have a permanent log in & have an icon on my desk top that I just click on to get to the QB. I always go to the What's New section. That way I pick up conversations in all the departments. A lot of days I just keep the QB open & just minimize it when I'm doing other things in the house. Then when I come back to it I will just "refresh" so I get the current posts. Just like jmoore, I would get more done in my house if I didn't spend so much time here. :D

I stay "logged in" and just open my bookmark. Then I go straight down to "Archive" on the bar at the bottom of the page. Then I click on the "Main" or "Pictures" forums. That gives me all the newest posts in blue at the top of the list.
Its a quick method to scan all the forums to see if any post titles catch my eye.

I'm always logged in, too. I click on the bookmark and go to Recent Topics

I have it bookmarked as well so I just click on and open it. I love seeing Pictures. I look at a lot of topics but that's my favorite.

It's pretty much the first thing I look at when I get a notification. And I too start at the top and work my way down. Recently though I've noticed that some of the 'main' topics and 'pictures' are repeats from a day or two days before. But I Love going through the entire thing. I don't usually do the antiques cause I don't have any - besides myself - and there is NO help on here for that! :D

I type in quiltingboard and go to what's new. I saved my login and only occasionally need to log-in again. It does seem like there is not as many new posts as there used to be, though.
