Air Frier Pros and Cons
 

We're thinking about getting an air frier. So the questions we have are:

1. Is yours to small?
2. What do you love from it?
3. What was a flop?
4. What brand did you get?
5. Are you using it a lot or just once in a while.?

Can't wait for the responses. You guys are great help every time any of us have questions on just about anything.

Love ours. My Mom gave me hers. I almost did not take it because I'm not really into gadgets (I guess I consider this a gadget). My husband said he would use it so I took it. The brand is the POWER XL and I recommend it. I think it's 2 or 3 quarts. Good size. We use it mainly for re-heating things instead of the toaster oven. Quicker with as good or better results. Haven't really cooked that much from scratch other than roasting potatoes in it (which turn out well). He and my son use it multiple times a day and really really like it.

Love our air fryer. We have the Power XL Oven one. It has 3 racks instead of a basket. I cook fish, chops, biscuits, frozen foods like fries and pretty much anything that requires a crust. I love the fact that it can sit on the counter and I don't have to heat up my big oven. I remember it comes in two sizes. We got the smaller one. DH wanted to do rotisserie chicken. It has to be a small one to rotate. Wish we had gotten the larger one.

Think about the items you want to cook and size. It's better to have more room than not enough.

I am thinking about a combo unit which makes more sense for my kitchen. There is also the option of a new range that has one built in the oven also.

We had one, used it infrequently, and got rid of it. I don't remember what brand it was, but I know it was too small. We seem to use our toaster oven quite a bit, so I think maybe we were spoiled by that. Make sure you have room for it also. I have limited space, and with a toaster, microwave, blender, coffee maker and toaster oven, we always had to move something to make room for it.

we got the Ninja flip. It might be an option. So far we are very satisfied

The first one I had was a bucket style. I didn't care much for it because I thought it was too narrow and too deep, and I didn't think it got things like chicken strips or jo jo potatoes as crispy as I wanted. Then the display stopped working, so I took it back to Costco. I didn't have the receipt or the box, but they took it back. Love Costco! The one I replaced it with (also purchased at Costco) is this one. Things I like about it: it's easy to clean, much easier than my first one. It flips up out of the way when you're done and takes up less room than my first one. It is actually an air fryer, toaster oven, and convection oven all in one. My kids use it WAY more than they use the microwave oven anymore. I can't list any cons because there really aren't any.

yes that is the one I have - the Facebook page calls it the Ninja Flip oven. Very satisfied

I too have this one. The positives are it's small, can be cleaned (others that I looked at folks complained about trying to clean them) and cooks on every setting wonderfully (even the toast option). It is very versatile and in addition to air frying replaces my old not so good toaster oven.. Because it is only me DH and I, I use it daily instead of the oven when I am baking small entrees for dinner. I only have one possible negative comment - the actual height of the oven inside is smaller than others so you would be limited by that. I love it and am glad I bought it.

When I decided to have my kitchen remodeled at the same time the sunroom was going to be built connected to it I bought myself a Ninja Air Fryer and a Food processor. Items I've always wanted but never had the space for. As I had no kitchen for pretty much 7 months, the air fryer came in handy along with my 30+ yo microwave down in the basement. I moved my coffee pot down there too to use during that time. Once my kitchen was up and running my stove oven decided to conk out on me and with the pandemic and trying to replace appliances was an issue the air fryer came in handy all summer long until I was able to get the new stove. It also has the air fryer for the oven. Love my Ninja air fryer as it's large enough to bake a pie, a medium size pizza, toast bread and of course air fry. It also flips up when not in use and cool so doesn't really take much space. I gave my toaster oven to my next door neighbor as I had no need for it.
