I am pretty sure many of you have seen the national news about the Air Race disaster. I live so close to that air strip that I heard helicopters and ambulances for the better part of the day yesterday. Just on the other side of this valley.

It is so sad I have been praying for them and so sad since that happened. I hope you all pray for the people still in the hospital.

I suppose that you just never know.

I saw that on TV. It was horrible but was thankful as that could have been a lot worse.

Its just awful - what a tragedy...

Many of the pilots family members were there watching. I just hate that. How traumatizing that would be!

What a tragedy

I heard them say that the pilot managed to avoid hitting the viewers at the last moment. Thank Heavens, although I know several still were injured from the debris flying around, it could have been so much worse. Horrible to watch.

I don't know how many were released yet. But there were seventy five people taken to the hospitals around here besides the flyer pilot.

I used to live right next to this strip. One year I was hanging curtains back up after the fall washing/starching and the window actually bowed in for a moment from the force of a plane that crashed into the ground so hard it took until one in the morning to get it out. I tell you, that shook me up so bad I made my hubby come home from work!

Well that and there was a fire it started and I was afraid we would have to fight the fire to save the house!

Yes it is beautiful to see the races, but, of so terrible when something like this happens.

It's always so tragic when these accidents happen. I'm not sure they should continue these types of air shows.
