Alice in Wonderland

I know everyone know about Alice. I fell in love with the rabbit by John Tinniel and have him traced on canvas and also printed on needlepoint canvas. It is not in copyright and here are the links to that effect. His works are in the public domain and all the images can be had from Gutenberg site. Here is a link to the illustrations, if you click on one image it will enlarge and you can save it. The black and white illustrations commissioned by Lewis Carroll for his works are also out of copyright. This applies to John Tenniel's illustrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), Through the Looking-Glass (1871), and The Nursery “Alice” (1889). ... I am going to paint him on that canvas first and then do my needlepoint. I will make his jacket colorful instead of the brown/gold that is on the original. I am currently searching for a stuffed pattern for this rabbit. I do have a basic standing rabbit from an old book but the legs are not right. I many have to draft the legs. A friend sent me a piece of Mohair and on my that stuff is so expensive. I will keep you all posted. This should be fun. Even an applique may be in the works lol.....keep tuned

I haven decided yet Lynnie, I might give him a patchwork jacket. I need to deside on the background first. I think that will be in light beiges and light colors for the sky part and some green grass for the bottom part and the more I think of it, he will have a patchwork jacket lol......I will find a nice textured white and might do some confetti for hair...etc

I don't know why my images are being removed, they are not in copyright, this is really so sad......I am free to usee these images and post them with the name of the artist, which I have done. So is my quilt block going to be deleted too, if that is the case, it doesn't make any sense for me to be here anymore....

I fused the rabbit on the background last night. I will put trees grass flowers etc and paint shadow and high lights on the rabbit so he looks more dimensional.
