Ok you guys talked me into trying almond milk recently. For the last week I've been using it on my morning cereal. I got the vanilla flavored and I like the taste of it but... I hate to say this it kinda makes my stomach feel queasy going down. Anyone else experience this when you first started using it?

Im alleric to cows milk, so I should try it. I really cant choke down soy milk though, so i dont want to buy it and waste it...

Not a milk drinker, I am going to watch this though. My tummy kind of rebels on things, too But I can eat hot wings like nobody's business!

I can't do soy so I don't think this would work either. Maybe just eat a handful if almonds a day and use skim milk.

Are you buying store bought or making your own? The reason I ask is because I used to buy store-bought SOY milk (didn't have a problem) and recently started making my own almond milk (and didn't have any digestive problems). So, it could be however the company makes it, if it's store bought, is not agreeing with you.

Another thing: when you move toward more "whole foods" you actually need less to feel satisfied. So, if you normally would use a cup of milk on ceral, for example, you may only need 1/2 cup for your body to be satisfied. Could be too much good stuff at one time if you traded it ounce for ounce. :D

I don't know about almond milk but when I tried soy milk it made my stomach feel queasy too. I'll stick to skim which I love.

My Dr. suggested I drink the almond milk, he's a foody and believes in eating for health and not other reason. He was making his own almond milk before it was available to buy. I like it a lot. I buy the plain, Almond Breeze I think is the name of it. I also buy almond butter instead of peanut butter. It's hard to find the good foods in a small town but one store sells the almond milk and I have encouraged everyone to try it so the store will keep selling it! And the almond milk has a long expiration date.

Is there soy in store bought almond milk?

Also how do you make your own?

I've been using Almond milk for a little while, I love it!! I even put it in my hot chocolate, yummo. I have a handicap client who is also diabetic and he loves it too, he used to drink non-fat milk but that has 13g of sugar in one cup and the almond milk has zero grams of sugar.

Hope it works out for you.
