Change the carton when you buy more eggs. I did this today and the carton fit perfectly in the fridge door. Keeps the bottom of the shelf clean too.

Very clever! I love Alton Brown. His recipe for brown rice is the best. You make it in the oven. Perfect every time. I make up a couple of batches and then freeze it in 2 person sizes. Sprinkle some water on it and cover it and put it frozen in the microwave and voila! I have fresh tasting brown rice quickly.

My husband drilled holes in a piece of wood to hold the different size bottles of salad dressing and condiments. Works great.

Great idea! Wonder if you could use the clear plastic egg carton that comes with some organic eggs. I recycle them, but they might work and look nice in the fridge, too. Hmmm, maybe I could use the other piece for the big bobbins beside my Sweet Sixteen?

Did you know with some range free eggs, if you pick the heaviest carton, the eggs will most likely be double yolked? You can tell a difference in the weight when picking out a carton. I always choose the heaviest carton and always have many double yolked eggs in them.

I happened to have seen this online, I couldn't believe the amount of sarcastic remarks on him and his idea!! I thought it was so cruel and rude! Most went off on how "Genius" he was and that most of the already thought of this. Some folks can be just downright mean! I happen to like Alton Brown!!

EvelynJ 05-01-2014 05:18 PM

LOL he is very clever!! Thanks for sharing I gotta go put this on my FB page.

I love Alton Brown. I wish he was on TV more! He's much better than Martha!

quiltmom04 05-02-2014 10:15 AM

I like Alton Brown, too, especially for his science of cooking. But here's my take, and I don't mean to be mean, but if you can't even shake anymore out of the bottle you probably have a tablespoon at most in there. At, say, $3.50 for a 12 oz bottle, that's probably less that 2 cents worth of mustard. So pitch it and stop cluttering up your fridge!
