Angela Walters

Do you think she is truly drinking wine during the filming of her Midnight Quilt Show series? And do you think she is actually filming in the evening or night?

I'm thinking it's grape juice and being filmed in the middle of the day. :) Fun idea and attitude anyway. She's a hoot to watch!

Mousie 10-19-2018 07:41 PM

I love Angela and yes, I think both are very possible. She has kids and I think filming while
they are in bed is a good routine for her. No interruptions. The wine might be wine sometimes
and grape juice other times, but some ppl believe a good glass of wine is a great thing to have while
quilting. Not me, I can't drink, but just sayin'.
;)

I do think the filming is at night because of the lighting. Daytime darkness in a room isn't the same as night time darkness in a room. And I don't care what she drinks--she's so refreshing and such a hoot! Even my dh says, "Now that one I can watch!" I love watching her!

I think she's for real. I think she's young enough with the stamina to do that. Me . . . not so much. I love a small glass of wine & chocolates occasionally (while quilting), but couldn't stay up and start & finish a quilt in one night. Shoot, I can't stay awake most nights to see how a t.v. show ended!

NZquilter 10-20-2018 04:04 AM

I'm young, younger than Angela Walters, and there is no way I could look that fresh and lively in the evening. But the end of the day I'm always pooped out!

Amen, Mavis!

Some folks have the metabolism to digest wine and have stamina made of stainless steel. Me....no...

There are a couple of movies, and of course I cannot remember which ones, where there is a woman who can drink a man under the table. Angela is probably one of those.

More power to her.

Good question. I have no idea but I love watching her! I like her laid back style.

sewbizgirl 10-20-2018 05:32 AM

She's my favorite!

dunster 10-20-2018 07:20 AM

I was lucky enough to take several classes from her at Quiltcon in Pasadena. She is even prettier in person, and such a lovely and funny personality. I doubt that it's wine, but I'll pretend that it is, right along with her.

feffertim 10-20-2018 07:23 AM

her kids are older, so I doubt she times her show around their bedtime. I hope its wine also

Stitchnripper 10-20-2018 07:50 AM

I enjoy her very much. She seems only to take a sip now and then. I think she probably makes the quilt ahead of time and shows us just some of the process with the fast forwarding etc - because some of those quilts would take more than a few hours from cutting to quilted final quilt. She does use fusible batting. I don’t spend too much time thinking about how she gets her show done - I just like to watch her and have learned from her. (Echo echo echo - and don’t rip out blood - they will not be noticeable on the types of quilts she makes - and the kind I make)

Onebyone 10-20-2018 08:22 AM

She's fun to watch. I know the filming is over several weeks. She doesn't make a quilt in one night.

Doggramma 10-20-2018 03:51 PM

I love watching her videos. When I visited her shop in Liberty MO she actually waited on me! It was such a thrill.

Who is she and how can I start watching her? she sounds fun!

she was recently the presenter at our guild meeting--a really upbeat, fun quilter! She was asked if she really made the quilt in one night (no, lots of prep work ahead of time) and yes, sometimes she does have a glass of wine--which she basically sips! As she would say, Done is better than perfect!

cashs_mom 10-20-2018 06:59 PM

I love watching her, too. I have always been in awe of her being able to be a mom all day and then sew late at night after her kids are in bed. I could never do that even when I was younger. Now I'm in bed by 11 almost every night and wish I had been on the few nights I'm not.

I like to have her channel on in the background sometimes when I’m quilting. She is so funny and relatable. I am a night owl, but wow—not with THAT kind of energy !

cat-on-a-mac 10-21-2018 04:57 AM

I love watching her too ... but, while I would love to indulge while quilting, NO WAY do I let myself have a glass of wine, especially red wine, in the room with me! It would undoubtedly get spilled and ruin my project!

Now, M&Ms ... that's another story!

Just thinking logically.....the Craftsy offices are here in Denver. I think she flies into Denver to do the filming. Someone (?) has the pieces prepped and ready so all Angela has to do is cut a few pieces, stitch a block and
wa-la........ it’s ready to quilt. Like Sewing With. Nancy.....there are many steps prepared for the filming. I also think she likes grape juice. :-)

Rose_P 10-21-2018 11:44 AM

As a sometimes midnight quilter myself, I have no doubt she could be recording at night.

I've never seen her drink more than a little wine, but if I tried it, I'd definitely spill. Also, I if I had even a sip of wine while in the vicinity of sharp object, the results wouldn't be good. Even totally sober and well-rested I've come close to cutting myself. Not long ago I actually trimmed an already short fingernail with my rotary cutter!

rryder 10-21-2018 03:33 PM

Looks like wine to me and I still can’t figure out how she keeps from knocking the glass over LOL!

she films in her shop/studio in Liberty Mo--said that she is moving into an additional studio/office so that she can do the filming and business end of things without the interruptions of the shop.

I don't know but I sure like watching her. She makes it all sound fun, and isn't that what quilting and quilty friends are all about.....

Sew Freak 10-22-2018 09:14 AM

I luv her and her show....funny and quirky....I like that!

romanojg 10-27-2018 04:32 AM

Some people are night people and some are not. Wine is good anytime of the day, except for breakfast. That's a totally different drink. its just that people have more time at night to do things or get everyone together to film. Not a problem
