Antlers for Dogs

Has anyone heard of or actually uses antlers(like for deer) for dog chews.

I just found out that these are suppose to make excellent chews for them, they don't splinter or crack and they contain calcium which is good.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of this.

Thanks

My dog find them in the woods and brings them home. She's still alive....Tough stomach....

Back when I lived in a rural area.. this was a very common practice.

There is a place in Montana that does the antler dog chews. I found them a few years ago for my granddogs. Found the site thru google, cannot remember the name of it. Sorry

My dogs will chew up almost all parts of the deer, but won't touch the antlers. We have neighbors that clean their own and throw the waste out to the neighborhood dogs. There's a pecking order in what dogs get what leftovers, but apparently none of the dogs want the antlers. For some reason my dogs seem to always bring home a leg from the knee down.

Yup, alot of people do that now. MUCH better than rawhides and smoked bones in my opinion. I actually give my dog raw bones (with meat on it, NOT bare bones) for his teeth and it works wonders. You just have to make sure you get the right size for your dog so that they don't choke on it.
