Any Doctor Who Fans?

I just watched the season finale on BBC America. We say goodbye to Rory and Amy and I'm going to miss them. I think they're my favorite companions and this is my favorite Doctor. Although I really liked David Tenant. Haven't watched much farther back than that. I just picked up at the tail end of the one before Tenant. Really like Rose Tyler.

Doctor Who fans in my house. It's a little traumatic when they change out Doctors and companions ;-) I've watched since my teens. I feel old ;-)

willferg 09-30-2012 07:12 AM

I started watching with the current doctor and I love him. I like David Tenant, but I never got to know him so it's not the same for me. I haven't seen any of the current season because my daughter started watching without me, but I will sit down and have a marathon by myself very soon!

willferg 09-30-2012 07:13 AM

P.S. I've been meaning to embroider myself a Tardis -- seems like it would be easy, lots of straight lines. I was going to make one for my daughter, but not any more, lol!

I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and have been following the Time Lords for many years. I think Matt Smith is fantastic as the Doctor. I saw him interviewed on Late Night with Craig Ferguson, and loved him even more. What's all this talk about a Christmas special? I think I'll start looking for a TARDIS quilt pattern.

if you Google Doctor Who quilts and/or fabrics, you will see wondrous things ;-)

Thank you, thank you Debra! I don't want a "Like" button, but I sure think a "Thank You" button would be nice.

lol, nice to meet a fellow fan ;-)

Dr. Who is my HERO. Well not quite. But we really do enjoy him and all his companions, Spoiler alert!
His companions are never really gone. Just in a different time period.

Been a fan since Peter Cushing..liked Pertwee the best..Tennant was good but not overly keen on Matt Smith. The stories are still good.

But watching the Doctor Who series since 1970 and have liked all the doctors but I do have favorites: Tom Baker, Colin Baker, Chris Ecclston, Dave Tennant and finally started to like Matt Smith.

ME But The Old ones! The new ones just don't cut It! for me. :(

My 7 year old grandson is CRAZY for Dr. Who!! He wants to dress as the TARDIS for Halloween... we tried to tell him that no one in the second grade is going to know what he is LOL.

He can tell you who all the Drs. are and who their companions are, and loves to discuss his favorite episodes.

Drs. Who, Herriott and Farnan

Me too! (Now we are not getting old, just mature!) Anyway I loved the first Doctor and my kids were little then and watched too. We made a tardis out of a big box , had themed ornaments on our Christmas tree, and have remained fans all these years. When Peter Davidson (hope that name is correct) was the Doctor I couldn't imagine him as anyone else than Tristan on All Creatures Great and Small. That show and books are wonderful! I visited the actual surgery that Alfred White (James Herriott) had and also the tourist kitchen replica of Seldale House. Felt like I was actually part of that time and place. Anyone else fans of the vets?

Tom Baker is my all time favorite Doctor.

I loved that scarf, I can't knit or crochet to save my live though. And his "sonic screwdriver" was the best.
I wish my sewing room had the same amount of room the Tardis has.

My first DS has been a fan for more than 30 years and STILL tries to coax me into watching with him. N-o-o-o-o-o! He learned to knit stitch when he wanted me to make him one of those ten foot scarves. Thank heaven he became tired of the project and he never wore it in public. He still duct tapes me to a chair and recites hours of plot twists, character updates and companion descriptions and actor favorites. The only thing sillier than Daleks was Twikki from Buck Rogers and the Dagget on (I think) the original Battlestar Galactica. I still love DS #1 despite this persistent mental aberration.

For cool time travel try Malcolm McDowell as H.G. Wells in Time after Time. Now he's a Time Lord.

I love the Dr. but do not get it here. My daughter is a fan and got to go to a special showing in NYC!

Doctor Who, who I have been faithfull to since my 20's. (Longgggg Timmmme). My very favorite is Tom Baker. My friend knitted me a scarf. Love it in the winter. Have on my car bumper a sticker that says, Tardis Mail, when it absoluetly has to be there yesterday. Lots of people stop me in parking lots who are fans. The Christmas Special they have make every year. It is one show, but it still has a wonderful story.

Been a fan since the new series started with the 9th Doctor. Enjoy watching the reruns too. Started watching Classic Doctor Who starting from the beginning. Watched what I could on Netflix and really liked Tom Baker but enjoyed all the others as well. I would have to say my favorite from the classic series is Tom Baker and probably David Tennant from the new series but Matt Smith is doing a great job too. I guess I just enjoy the show so much, all the doctors are great. Now I need to start buying the DVDs to see all the old ones.

I remember when he was the Doctor, although I wasn't watching it then. I'm a James Herriott fan and loved PD as Tristan.

I started watching it when Chris Ecclston was the Dr. Was heartbroken when he left, then started liking David Tennent. Again was heartbroken when he left, but I am now enjoying Matt Smith. Loved Rose, and Amy, not too keen on the companion in between.

Watched every single All Creatures Great and Small when it first came out. I even have the boxed set of DVD's now. Have the books, All Things Bright and Beautiful, All Creatures Great and Small, All Things Wise and Wonderful, The Lord God Made them All. Love reading them. One of the books even has recipies from the stories.

I think my t-shirt says it best...
"You never forget your first doctor"

It has a pic of the TARDIS on it!!

OMG Now I know most quilters must have some sort of strange quirks....I never realized so many people watch Dr. Who. Started watching when Tom Baker was Dr. Who. Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren are all fans. On of the GGS, dressed as Dr. Who last Halloween. My DH (now deceased) was also a big fan. It's neat knowing that some people still have imaginations....maybe that's why we are quilters or wannbe (me) quilters.

Watched Dr Who since the Jon Pertwee days. Have to say I prefer David Tennant and I loved Catherine Tate ( probably because I saw her first doing her comedy skits).

kuseta 10-02-2012 12:56 PM

David Tennant is our favorite Dr. I like Rose Tyler and Amy too. my 13 year old daughter will watch our dvd set all day, if I let her.

Catlady 10-02-2012 08:42 PM

My favorite doctors were Jon Pertwee, David Tennant, all time favorite: Tom Baker.
Favorite companions Sarah Jane and Rose.
