Silver Linings Playbook was great! Do you do classic movies? Does Netflix have old movies? I have never used Netflix.

Loved both of these, and The Blind Side, saw The Guilt Trip at theater it was very funny esp if you see it with older kids.

Merlin. Technically it's a TV show, but it is AWESOME. Very well-written, likeable characters (and characters you love to hate! he he), funny at times, romantic at times, and sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat at times! It starts out good, and the story gets better and better and better as you go along. It's family-oriented, and even though they have sword fights and run into all kinds of perils, they don't actually show anything gory. It's got something for everyone. I didn't expect to like it, but it turns out that I *love* it! :D

Here's a link to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1199099/

"Young Merlin is a teenager, discovering and then learning to master his magical gift. Magister Gaius, King Uther Pendragon's learned court physician to whom he's assigned as humble page, teaches him medicine, coaches his magical self-study, and warns him of Uther's strong aversion to magic. Merlin becomes squire to the noble but imprudent crown prince, Arthur, whose fate is linked with Merlin."

Tesspug: I'm with you on your movie recommendations. Loved all those you mentioned. Someone was saying the other day that they are working on RED 2. I hope so!

We've been working our way through series. Doc Marten, X-Files. Merlin (LOVED). We are now going watching Alias. - Bradley Cooper with REALLY bad hair!

I have to be honest, I had problems with The Silver Linings Playbook. The language was so bad it kept taking me out of the film. Finally, at about the last 15 minutes or so of the movie I thought that it was okay. Definitely not Oscar-worthy performance by Jennifer Lawrence. I do love her acting though.

We just watched the newest one with Clint Eastwood, Trouble with the Curve, or something to that effect. He's a baseball scout and it's mostly about his relationship with his adult daughter. Some language, but I did watch it with my 16 yr old. He didn't love it, but I still think it's a good movie.

You can go to Netflix on your computer and increase your queue with movies that you approve of. If there aren't any then try renting from the REDBOX in your town. or try the Smithsonian lectures on your internet. There is no limit of things/entertainment to watch that meet your criteria, you have just have to learn where they are located.

A wonderful move actually it was a mini series from England is called "North and South" starring Richard Armitage. I saw it on Netflix and when it was over I immediately bought it on Amazon. It is a wonderful story and great for a teenager too. Phantom of the Opera starring Gerard Butler is good.

Have you seen "The Best Marigold Hotel" yet? It's a pretty good one I think and my husband enjoyed it too.

Shirley Valentine...I'd forgotten about that one, but it's worth watching again! Also King's Speech and Best Exotic Marigold...anything Doc Marten with his absolute curmudgeonliness is good. If you can find Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small" (it was on PBS years ago), they would be good, too.

Big Fish is an older movie but one I really loved. I normally watch TV series that I missed. Like my friends were wild about The Walking Dead so I watched the first 2 seasons and caught up on this season. Love it! Right now I'm watching Heroes. Again, my friends raved about it when it was on. I have to say I'm addicted now.

I like to watch shows that have already ended so have the complete series on. There's only one show I actually watch at night because my husband comes in and takes over the remote. NCIS is a MUST.
