We are planning a trip in September and will be going thru Canada from Detroit to Niagra Falls. Any suggestions on what we might like to visit or see along the way?

When in Niagara Falls, (Canadian side)follow Lundy's Lane, (HWY 20)....to Pelham, village of Fonthill, a lovely bedroom town. As soon as you get to the top of the hill you will see The Log Cabin. Home to a good little restaurant, a gift shop, ice cream store and a HUGE and wonderful quilt shop called The Quilting Bee. Kelly (the owner ) is wonderful. They also are the eastern Canada rep for HandiQuilter so you can get a long arm demo if you want too!!!!

You might want to go a little further along the road to Niagara-on-the-Lake. It's a lovely little town with interesting shops (a Christmas shop, fudge store, etc.) and some good restaurants.

If you are driving from Detroit to Niagara Falls, don't just stay on the 401 and 403. They are fast (4 lanes) but there is nothing to see! Take some of the secondary highways and wander along Lake Erie through the smaller towns and villages and actually see the countryside. Niagara on the Lake is wine country and there are lots of wine tours and beautiful bed and breakfast places. Hotels are fine but the smaller spots are more interesting and there are lots to chose from. Enjoy your trip.
