Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth? Have any of you ever used it for taking care of fleas or parasites on your animals?

I got some the other day cause my new rescue kitty Misty has among many other little issues, Ghiardia a parasite.

Just curious if any of you have any experience with this.

I have heard of using it to help get rid of fleas and that you can find it in the garden section of any home big box store, but I have never had to use it.

If you research raw diets you will find most of the owners use it verses chemicals.

I think you need to see a vet for treatment of this, as it's an internal bug.

Have used it on goats for worms and parasite. Worked, but with the goats had to rotate what I used on them to make sure they stayed healthly when they get sick they go down fast. And had so many that when one got sick you could lose a lot of them their hypochondriac when one got sick they all try and get sick. lol

Ghiardia is definitely internal.

Ghiardia is dangerous and, I believe, contagious. Have you been to the vet?

Two years ago, my kitty came from the humane society. She had fleas, tape worms, and parasites. I was devestated. The vet couldn't fix it. I called a pet shop and found that I needed to take her back to the humane society and have her treated. They took care of all the worms and bugs, but her tummy was badly messed up. With advise from the pet store, I started her on a raw meat diet. That was two years ago, and it only took one day for her tummy to be normal again. I also put probiotic powder in her food to keep her intestines healthy. She is so healthy now and beautiful and shiny. It took dedication, but she pulled through it very well, and has never had another single problem. She eats only raw meats.

Please try raw hamburger or go to the pet store and buy their balanced raw meat food in the frozen foods. You will be amazed how quickly the problem clears up.
