Hello Everybody,
My son just graduated from college and is very possibly going to take a job in Korea for a year. I was just wondering if anybody here is from or knows anybody from there. Or if you just know anything about Korea. I know there are horror stories so don't be afraid to tell me. I want to hear it all.
Thanks,
Judy in Ohio

Depending on where he is going to be in Korea, you can go to Trip Advisor and search for that area. There are people who post about the different restaurants, hotels, areas to live and whatnot. At least it's a start.

i served for a year in South Korea. i came back in one piece.

my son was also there for a year - obviously a lot more recently - and had a blast.

i believe your son will find it different enough to be interesting and fun, but modern and similar enough to be comfortable and have no regrets about taking the job. just make sure he understands that his first order of business is to find those fabric shops.

I don't know anything about Korea, but I can only imagine the worry you are going through having him so far from home. I am sure he will be fine...he will gain a lot through this experience

My son will be going to South Korea. He spent 3 months in Ecuador a couple years ago. That was tough. He went there for school.

This time he will be gone for a year. Im still hoping he will find something here between now and then. But, this is an awsome opportunity for him since he minored in international development.

He is a good kid, well, I should say a good man. He is 22. So, I can only trust that he will be ok.

I just have to find the best way to stay in touch with him.

My Youngest son (31) is in the army and just got back in April from a year tour of duty there in South Korea. He has some interesting stories about the food there! Being int he army I don't know that he got out and about like your son would but I think he liked it.
