Would be'n strapped to a gurney on the skid of a helicopter count lol or was it in the helicopter w/the door open. Either way when u don't like heights it's an adrenalin rush lolol

My dad went last year. He always wanted to do it...it was on his bucket list so all of us kids pitched in and sent him up. He loved it.

i took my mom on holiday to germany several years ago, part of our adventure was a hot air balloon ride over the city and country side near rothenburg ob der tauber at sun rise. I will always remember that, it was such an amazing experience.

Go for it, you will love it.

Yes, but it has been a long time! 1980 or so. My dad & I went. There's actually no feeling of moving because you're moving with the wind. Quiet too, except when the pilot runs the burner. However, as we were coming in for a landing in a cornfield, the pilot said to be sure we bend our knees to soften the blow.

Couldn't do it now as a fear of heights has become part of being older. :-(

DH gave me a gift certificate for a ride one year. Funniest part was that they gave us a 'bike helmet' as the safety equipment!! Maybe it is different now? But I agree - it is very quiet! You could hear dogs bark, an occasional car horn. I took binoculars along but I could so far without them - they limited my view!!

I would so love to go on one someday. I'd have to do it on my own, though; Boyfriend doesn't even like to go up on ladders, let alone hundreds of feet up in the air in a basket. :P

I have. It was not scary to me, but I can see how it might be to some people. It is very peaceful just floating along. It's a bit loud when they turn on the burners. I would say I liked parasailing better, but the balloon was cool, too.
