Anyone getting this for Valentine's Day?

Not me...that kind of money buys a lot of fabric. :p

I like chocolate, but that's just stupid.

Onebyone 02-09-2018 05:06 PM

I'm not a fan of dark chocolate so I wouldn't like it. Give me a plain $1 Hershey Bar.

Dolphyngyrl 02-09-2018 08:26 PM

Yeah there better be gold in that chocolate bar

sewbizgirl 02-09-2018 09:56 PM

Imagine how many starving people that one candy bar could by food for.

That's first thing that popped in my head, too! It's irresponsible to offer this let alone buy it. So ridiculous..

That's more than I spend on Ghirardelli in a year. I love their Cabernet.

coopah 02-10-2018 05:34 AM

Not happening here. My brother and SIL brought me a box of Godiva chocolates. Most were dark chocolate. UGH! If I wanted healthy, I’d go eat broccoli! Someone gave my mother 3 boxes of Godiva...all pricey and all dark chocolate. We’ve donated them to a church tea for the ladies. Give me a Symphony chocolate bar or a Milky Way anytime!

Iraxy 02-10-2018 10:01 AM

Not here, despite our budget cuts still not in the 1%. Maybe next time around.

Painiacs 02-10-2018 10:24 AM

All I can say is there's no crazy face!!!

Painiacs 02-10-2018 10:26 AM

I agree, not dark chocolate fan. Love garidelli bars

That's what I was thinking.

Doggramma 02-10-2018 12:21 PM

That's funny about the DNA testing. If I liked chocolate more, I wouldn't mind trying it.

llong0233 02-10-2018 12:37 PM

Ditto JustAbitCrazy. Besides, Hershey's is just about as good as any chocolate I've had. Could be just my pedestrial tastebuds but really?

JanieH 02-11-2018 08:09 AM

I am with you all. Love the comment about dark chocolate and broccoli - that is how I feel. And my favorites are the Symphony bars and Snickers (the original one).

NanaCsews2 02-11-2018 08:51 AM

Would never appeal to me. It's milk chocolate or nothing. Went to the local big box hardware store yesterday. Walking down the aisle toward checkout and DH clearly, loudly, states: That's what I need to get you for Valentines Day. Half an aisle down I realize he is talking about this huge over sized red heart box of chocolates. I am talking 'BIG'. My mind kept thinking what a waste. I politely told him no thanks, you don't need to do that. Most of it would have been thrown out as too many flavors of chocolate and creams and nuts make my throat gaggy. Bag of Dove hearts is all I require. Honestly, you'd have to have money to burn, a little selfishness, and then some to think its okay to spend that amount on something going extinct.

Annaquilts 02-11-2018 09:02 AM

No, I am good. I will just get the other dark chocolate bar and spend the rest on quilting. LOL

Annie68 02-11-2018 10:11 AM

I'd like one bite to see what it tastes like.

Dark chocolate?? UGH! Besides I would feel soooo guilty every time that I took a bite. Give me some "World's Finest Chocolate" bars any day....or, better yet, just glue them to the side of my hips!

SusieQOH 02-11-2018 03:01 PM

I don't like dark chocolate either. I used to love Nestle milk chocolate bars but I don't see them anymore. But I'll take a Hershey anyday!

rjwilder 02-12-2018 05:14 AM

I'd take it, I love dark chocolate. I was joking with my husband last week and told him not to waste money on flowers and to get me something good like a HQ Sweet 16. Well, guess what I got.......the Sweet 16, I am so happy and very very surprised. I've been wanting one for a long time so I guess he took me seriously.

Congrats! Enjoy your new gift.

I don't receive flowers at all, allergic to pollen. I don't particularly care for chocolate either. I prefer more useful gifts like tools or clothes.

A friend of mine got all bent out of shape because my husband got me a vacuum on year for my birthday. I was what I wanted.

I have to agree.

I like dark chocolate but can't imagine spending that kind of money on it

I love dark chocolate. I am happy waiting for Christmas so I can buy dark chocolate covered cherries. Our oldest Granddaughter has bought us chocolates and chocolate covered fruits from edible arrangements. I think is too expensive for us. She doesn't think so and we do enjoy them.

You sound like me. I've been told you have to force yourself to get used to it if you don't like it. Unless its something that will save my life or improve the quality of my life, I'm so not forcing myself to eat/drink anything. My daughter did that with her energy drink now she's hooked on them. I bought a very small can of what she drinks, took a sip and immediately threw it away. so not doing that. There are too many options out there. For Valentine's day, my grandkids will be getting Dollar Store stuff. They really don't care and you can't beat the price

This is the way you buy presents in my opinion. You buy things that the person would like but not willing to buy for themselves. You have a thoughtful Granddaughter.
