Anyone know Appleton, WI?

We have to spend a couple of hours there - I know nothing about the city, however. What would there be to see or do during that time? Any quilt shops? Any great restaurants?

I'd really appreciate your input! :)

HOUDINI
Formerly known as the Houdini Historical Center, the History Museum at the Castle is situated right next to the Lawrence University campus on the corner of College Avenue and Drew Street. The most popular exhibit in the museum features the internationally renowned magician and escape artist Harry Houdini, who grew up in Appleton as a young boy.

YAHOO shows 5 quilt shops with in the city limits...

I know nothing about them.. just report em..:

I should add that I think we will be near downtown - E. Harris St, Morrison St, College Ave are some streets I know we will be near.

I just received a wool applique quilt kit in the mail from Primitive Gatherings. The shop owners name is Lisa, and her work is utterly amazing. I'm going to switch up the pattern a bit because it's a bit too chaotic for my taste (it's called Lisa's Flower Garden), but she really has some amazing things in her store, and makes a line for Moda. Check it out at primitivegatherings.us.

Appleton is not difficult to get around. You should be able to hit the shops in one day. The local Benina dealer as fabric too. The name escapes me at this time. Been a couple of years since I was in Appleton.
