Appreciate all the requests for a copy of the Christmas Elf pattern, but...

Thank you to all of you who have responded with your wonderful comments to my Christmas Elf posting. It's always touching to read your thoughts and sincere comments. I realize that there are many out there who would love to have a copy of this pattern. I am still getting requests for it. This is an old pattern, 1991, but it is also copyrighted. It states on the pattern "All rights reserved" along with the copyright symbol next to Jenny Wren, Ltd.1991. As much as I would love to scan it and post it on the board for all of you to use, I just cannot. For those of you who own rights to patterns, you can appreciate this. Again, I am truly sorry that I cannot share this pattern.

I admire you very much for your stand! Even though I don't own any copyrights, I do try to honor them.

I too admire your stand! Copyright issues are so prevalent these days with a million ways to get something free with all this wonderful technology. Coming from a machine embroidery background I have heard of quite a few stories of embroiderers who broke copyright laws and paid a hefty price for it!

I am so glad you resisted the requests to copy the pattern. I think so many people think that once it's out there, it's fair game. It always bothers me when people brag about how they made a copy just by studying it and think they are so clever. They don't consider it stealing, but that is what it is. Good for you!

Absolutely understood!

Good thing our quilting grandmothers did not copyright Log Cabin, Virginia Star, and all the other quilt patterns so many years ago.

It may have been posted here, but I don't remember.

I also appreciate honoring copyrights!

this is Julie McCullough's site and she has some really unique doll patterns--I've made several and like them.
