I just wanted to mention how much I really do appreciate this site. The info given is great, but what really makes the difference between this and other sites is the sense of community. The people here are always so nice and it really is refreshing.

This came to me today when I looked at my moms Dogster page. Years ago I spent a lot of time on that board. It is kind of like a Facebook for crazy dog owners. Lots of fun:)

Today I read some of the responses my mom got from people on the Dogster board about what liquid to give the dog and cat other than milk. Long story short, the cat would get milk, the dog liked it, so next thing you know they both get milk in the morning.

I could not belive the snippy replies she got. Anyway - thanks to you all for being a great bunch of very supportive friends. :)

I have heard how snippy other boards can be, as well as other unpleasantness... that is why this board shines so brightly, there are so many wonderful people here :D:D:D

Well yah, WE ROCK!!! I am a mean cat and dog mommy and they do not get milk. I tried the other day and they did not want it. Just trying to make a connection, LOL.

This is a wonderful board! I have learned so much from the talent here. The drama is few and far between and I can usually get a chuckle (or 10) daily! Quiltin' comedians for the most part! And no cover charge!

I second (or fifth) that comment. I belong to a couple of dog boards, and the snottiness just overwhelms me sometimes. The ones who know "everything" and are just trying to educate, but end up alienating the people they should be helping. it makes me insane, and I rarely go on them. This board is amazing for its lack of sniping. I for one am so happy to be here and look at the amazing work you all do, and the way you are able to share your skills with others. I love it!.

I love this site too. haven't been here too long and sometimes it is hard to find time to sit and read but when I do I can feel the friendliness and concern at times to others. there are always new thing s to find here.

Well, let's not get carried away. There are some problems.
1. We spend too much time here when we should be quilting.
2. We get inspiration overload.
3. Our project list grows waaay toooo long.
4. We have lots of PMs and emails from friends to answer.
5. All the projects encourage more fabric buying--which easily leads to irrational purchases.
6. All the inspiration leads to us purchasing more books of patterns....

See? This place is trouble!

You just feel the warmth, the compassion and sisterhood in the replies And for some of us that still have to work; the silly, pee down you leg remarks that make us forget about that bad day we just had.[you know who you are]. I think it is a destressing place to get away for lifes ups and downs. I just love it. thanks

I absolutely LOVE this board; so glad I found it & 'finally' joined in on the posts. So many of you & most friendly (by that I mean 98%) the 2% are the drama queens/kings & a few "SPECIAL" to me. The SPECIALS know who they are for sure.

That is why after on chat a few times... I wrote the ADMIN to ask him IF he would consider a 'friends list' .... I think he is thinking on it.

I only joined this forum last month but already it seems like a second home to me. I love the banter and chat as well as all the helpful tutorials and great ideas. The only problem I have with it though is trying to fit my sewing around the time I spend on here!! :D

I am really fond of this board. So much info and love looking at the quilts and other projects you all have made.

Thank You to All of You! You have made me feel welcome and at home here. It never fails that I learn something every time I come here. So Thanks for that as well. This is really a great place. Even if I just want to be silly and joke around.

I totally agree that this is a great place. I've gotten an overwhelming amount of support here. (And I haven't even finished my first quilt yet!! :lol: )

I especially agree with #1. Way too much time spent here. But I hate to miss out on something/anything!

I am impressed at the speed of this board. Other boards for other things I have looked at go for hours or even days before someone posts things. Here ----- you comment before I'm are done sending it! Love ya ALL!

This IS a great board!!! I've met friends (virtually) and have now connected with a distant cousin!!! I've also learned a LOT about quilting, sewing, friendships....... :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I only joinedlast month too, but everyone is just so kind and nice here! I havent seen anyone rude at all, just a great place to be!

I have only one complaint about this board - join and you'll be addicted. It should carry a warning sign! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It's rare to find such generosity and sharing of thoughts and ideas. Thanks to everyone.

Just want to add my thanks for this board. I've learnt so much and love looking at all the beautiful work. It never fails to cheer me up and is a very welcome diversion in the middle of my day.

And again - I have a totally off topic problem and not only got the support I desperatly needed - but also got great advice!
