I originally saw this subject on weather.com. This is something out of the Dust Bowl era: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSqcqUIqtvA

this is a time-lapse video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrcVqtmugj8

I have been in many of these when living in NE... I don't miss them at all LOL

Yes, they do look just like that... and come fast. Dust gets driven in everywhere.. inside the house was absolutely hazy with dust. It took weeks to get rid of it all :(

Im glad you posted. I was going to earlier and got side tracked. I have lived here in Arizona my whole life and have seen many dust storms, this was unbelievable to say the least. The massive cloud of dust (they are saying now) spanned 50 to 70 miles wide and 5000 feet high. It shut down the airport and made such a mess out of everything. Dirt is everywhere.

The country is having the weirdest weather I have ever seen. It is really kind of scarey. Torandoes, flooding high winds and now dust storms.

This is horrible!! I was in a dust storm when I was a child in Avenal, Ca. We didn't leave the house for a couple of days and didn't open any windows or doors. I will never forget that experience.

The layer of dirt on my car this morning was unbelievable. I had to clean all my windows before I could even leave for work.
