Well it is finally happening -- my hands and fingers are getting stiff. Anyone out there with hints ---gloves, creams, exercises, etc.?

Try Naproxen Sodium. Cheap enough like $2.98 at WalMart. It's an antienflamitory, it helps with arthritis but I also have Fibromyalgia and there isn't much that helps that. This last few weeks have been bad. Very hard to move with this pain. :cry:
Anyhow, Alieve is the very same thing as this Naproxen, so is Motrin, so try the cheaper way out. It's all the same. The pharmacy at CVS told us this...Hope that helps you! :wink:

How about soaking your hands in Epsom salts for as long as the water is warm????? See if that helps. It does mine.

I start out the day warming my hands, then gentle stretching and flexing, before I do anything.
I find I need to keep them warm (fingerless gloves are great), take frequent breaks, (gently stretch and flex).

In the winter, I have found that keeping them very warm while I am outdoors helps a lot too. If they get very cold, for very long, I am going to pay for it for several days afterwards. :D:D:D

When I had my knee surgery a friend suggested BioFreeze to help with the pain. It's a gel and applied topically. If my hands get really bad I use it there too. I still prefer the naproxen though.

I am new here but I had to answer this one. I found quilters gloves at Joann's and got them on sale with a half price coupon because they were a wee bit pricey. They have fingers and are made of a stretchy material and are a bright lime green. The name is Creative Comfort and are made by Dritz. You can see them on their website. They help my hands tremendously

Thanks, but can't take NSAIDS. Also have fibromyalgia and am on Lyrica just increased my dosage!
