I have cancer and I eat asparagus every single week. In the spring when it is inexpensive..I buy large quantities..and vacumn pack it and freeze it. It is great roasted with a little olive oil, kosher salt and fresh pepper..yummy.

For those who dont like it, try it fresh on the grill. Just drizzle with olive oil, and throw the spears on the grill til tender, YUM! Never liked it as a kid, now I walk all over the place looking for it wild!

OMG roasted asparagus tossed in pasta with a drizzle of olive oil, fresh basil and grated romano cheese is my fav Friday night dinner.[/quote]

Tru, I can almost have a TRUPEACH area in my cookbook from all the good advice and good hints along with good recipes that I have gotten from you.

Thanks.......

Funny that you should say that...I made asparagus for Easter and most everyone at the dinner was eating it...(I made 3 bunches) My sons would never eat it when they were younger. My younger sons girlfriend had never had it before, so she took a couple pieces to try and talked my son into trying it again. They both love it! Younger son goaded older son into trying it...you guessed it.....he likes it tooo...

fiddleheads ????????? tru, is that something else to add to my cookbook?

Fiddle head are the top of a fern when they first come up They taste like asparagus but I am not sure the health benefits are the same. We ate them as children when my dad was teaching us about wild things we could eat.
