Is that bird a pet? That video was so cute. I love seeing wildlife from different regions.

Amazing, loved it. Thanks for sharing.

That is so cute, the puppy is absolutely adorable, and that silly bird!!! It looks like a wild bird but must be a pet to be so animal and people friendly. The only thing remotely close to that I've seen is when we had chickens, Jane, a little white hen, lived in our horse barn and ate cat food with the cats and then let Maggie our white golden retriever carry her by her wing. She was a strange little hen, but this bird? He really loves playing with the puppy. Thank you, that was so much fun to watch.

Loved the video. My cat sat on my lap and watched the whole thing. lol

mandyrose 03-18-2014 04:31 AM

omg! what a cute video I heard a kitty in the back round

Roberta 03-18-2014 05:42 AM

I was feeling really sorry for the bird, thinking it was hurt and unable to get up, but as the video played I can say I've never seen anything like this in my life :-)

Geri B 03-18-2014 05:45 AM

That bird is lovely....and puppy is cute.......thanks for the smile this morning.

Stitchit123 03-18-2014 06:41 AM

That is so cool. We had a shepherd/wolf dog named Spooks and parakeets. Well the birds rode around on his back inside and outside. At night the birds would all sleep on top of him. Mom did no believe in caging any thing.

Caswews 03-18-2014 08:00 AM

Amazing !!!

BETTY62 03-18-2014 08:38 AM

Love it. Do they play like this often?

tessagin 03-18-2014 08:53 AM

Ditto. When my dogs heard the cat in the background they started barking! LOL!

That's one plucky bird! Thanks for sharing! Amazing how calm the lady is with all that going on about her.

Jory 03-18-2014 10:56 AM

Does anyone know the name of the bird? I'd like to read more about the breed.

Thanks!

Naturalmama 03-18-2014 11:21 AM

That is so cute!

Really amazing! I wonder if that bird has been around that dog before? It certainly isn't afraid - even of the woman. Thanks for sharing with us.

bbeyes 03-18-2014 03:48 PM

So cute, never saw a dog play so gently with a bird. Thanks for sharing

bbeyes 03-18-2014 04:06 PM

She should put that on you tube or facebook, no one would believe it.

Yooper32 03-19-2014 04:32 AM

It's an Australian Magpie. We have magpies in the US too, but only in the western states, I do believe. I know we had lots of them in CO. They had different white/black colorations than this Aussie magpie.

Thanks!

Don't quote me on this but our Australian quilters may be able to confirm. I think it's a Magpie.

Stitchnripper 03-19-2014 04:42 AM

That was so adorable. I loved that the dog got in a submissive posture a lot. thanks for sharing.

lorli 03-19-2014 06:40 PM

Yes, it is a magpie. It would take me far too long to write about them here, but there is a wealth of information on these birds on Wikipedia. They are fascinating birds and we love them.

juneayerza 03-20-2014 08:02 PM

My cousin who lives in Queensland Australia has multiple Magpie friends. He puts food out for them on the railing of his porch about 8am and if he is late they will come and look in the kitchen windows to see where he is.

He sits out on the porch while they eat and when they are finished they will come and sit with him for awhile.

Really enjoyed this little video. The puppy is so cute and the bird is amazing. I've never seen anything like this. I liked the way the lady just ignored the bird when it landed on her laundry. She didn't even seem upset that the pup was chewing on one of her clothespins. haha

Blue Bell 03-21-2014 05:36 PM

Thanks for sharing this video. Loved it.
