Well, then you won't ever want to move to Buffalo. I've seen it come down at 2-3" per hour in the heaviest lake effect snow bands. Those are the times you hope that everyone you love is already safely at home!

I feel for you - we are expecting low 80's this weekend. I do like to walk in the snow - well after there is a big snow and it is quiet and beautiful. That doesn't happen anymore since my parents are gone and I have no reason to go back to Ohio.

It is very cold here, but no snow. There were some flakes floating around and everyone started making plans if they got snowed in at work. Sad, isn't it.

It's cold here, too, 20 miles south of Columbus. We have had flurries and some snow this week so we have about half an inch on the ground. My son is in the Air Force and was sent to Alaska in September, and wow, the weather they are having. He's at a base in Fairbanks and lives in North Pole. He has always liked cold weather, and so far is not complaing about temperatures like 35 below.

try cutting up your curtains instead of trudging out in the cold.......it worked for Scarlet O'Hara, or was it someone else. I hate cold weather..........UGH

We've made the trek from Columbus OH to upstate New York for over 20 years. More than once we got stuck in Buffalo and had to spend the night. Once we almost didn't make it for Thanksgiving dinner :D
I grew up with the stuff but I hated being stuck in Buffalo lol

The funny thing is my younger son moved to Florida because he always wanted to live where it was warm (news to me at the time!). I called him the other night when Florida was having a cold snap nudging 32*. I asked him if he was warm enough!

Cold here but no more snow this week. 10 degrees when I got up. A moose got hit on the rd by my house last night and the Trooper was here for over an hr and had to shoot it--bang! That was loud. He waited for someone to come and get it. The yearling is still hanging around missing its mother this morning.

Okay, so here I am, a native of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, living in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Placerville California. My elevation is 2200 feet. We have had a dusting of snow once this year, and only one hard frost. It is so balmy today (a little drizzly) that I have on a sleeveless lightweight sweater and blue jeans. I miss the Northwest something fierce! Enjoy your winter for me!
