Carl the Dog board books. Very few words so kids tell the story, my son loved these. Of course the dog is in impossible situations like babysitting so it is also good for a chuckle.
I second (third???) Good night Moon.

I did the same thing when my son was born. I had my wish box of books. I was so lucky, he loved reading. Just wish he loved it as much at 14!

My daughter and I give each other silly kids books for birthdays sometimes. She gave me "Are You My Mother" one time and I gave her "Green Eggs and Ham"

There's A Monster At The End of This Book. DGdau loved this book when she was about 4..would scare the willies out of her the way I read it, but it was her favorite.

There is a book, I Love You More....I got both of these books for DGGdau, her mother, my GDau and I used to tell each other I love you more than...chocolate pizza, or strawberry ice cream or something we would think up. Was such fun and I just loved this book when I found it.
