My daughters bought home a baby squirrel after the storm yesterday the tree it was in fell .I have nursed it though the night but really dont know if it will survive .It has not got any fur yet and its eyes are shut it isnt taking much milk hopefully it is enough to keep its strength up.I get very attached to babies like this even though most dont survive I do what I can to give it its best shot .I have a very good wildlife rehabber who helps me do it right. My daughers named it sqweak

Do what you can I nursed some back, but they were older than yours.

Good luck! It is good to hear that someone cares for the wildlife.

how tiny! I hope all goes well.

We nursed one too, but it wasn't that small. It lived in our powder room for almost a month. Named her Daisy. successfully released her after that.

I know it's on the other coast, but you can contact Coast & Canyon Wildlife Rehabilitation in Malibu, California. They rescue baby squirrels all the time. (I watch their on-line camera.)

Thank you for rescuing the little "tree rat".

awwww. That's so sad. I sure hope it makes it. I've had tiny kittens laying on a heating pad on my kitchen counter before. I usually don't win the battle but I still have to try.

Ohhhhhh! It is soooo tiny! I know that you will do your best for this sweet little thing. Sometimes God knows better than we do. . . .

Aw, poor little baby. You are doing a wonderful thing and all you can do is the best you can. Sometimes nature has to take its course and if it is meant to be, it will be. My mother rescued one one time (not quite that young but young) and it did very well.

Best of luck and keep us informed of his/her progress.

I have done this too. So far, I have successfully saved 4 out of 7 over the years. It breaks my heart when it does not make it, but like you, I have to try.
