I've been gone only a couple of weeks, but seems like a couple of months.....I love my home. My DD had her 10th (and hopefully last) back surgery. I went to West Texas to help her as much as I could. This all started when she was 14 and we found out that she had scoliosis. She had a 38 deg. curve at top and 45 deg curve at bottom of her spine. The doc. fused her spine from top to bottom and she did well for 7 years, then the additional surgeries started. She is now 49 years old. For the past 20 years she has had near constant pain and has been losing use of her legs. Now, with this latest surgery she has had a device implanted that will control the pain. It is working!!! We are all so thankful. The nerve damage cannot be reversed and she will have to use canes on her good times and her power chair other times, but at least the pain won't be so constant nor so severe. God is good!

Oh so good! Is it a pain pump or spinal stimulator? I have trialed both and will have the stimulator put in next month. So good she is out of pain it is not fun at all!

I am so happy for her, I have lived with pain all my life but for a different reason, partly back problems but mostly NPD.
so I know what it is like living with pain. so I am very happy for her.

What a blessing that you could go help. Hope all continues to go well for your DD. Pain bcomes its own disease after a while.
