i found i should not use DVD-RW ones but that is what Staples sold me. sigh again.
i know i got it out last time, just have to figure out how.
and buy new disks! I do so hate doing this. my hubby used to take care of things like this but doesn't do anything anymore. his back hurts so much he pretty much stays upstairs. i pay bills, etc.
oh well, i will learn somehow.
Yea!!! thanks, i did reboot and got the silly disk out. thanks again. Just keep your fingers crossed i can do a back up correctly when i try again.

I had this problem once before, look for a tiny hole on your tower where you put the disc in, usein the end of a straightout paper clip, place in hole, drawer should open up so you can take your disc out.

for a cd drive that won't open take a paper clip and unbind it a little; on the front of your drive you can see a little hole stick the paper clip in and it should open the drawer

so far, no hole has been found. but i got it out anyway. rebooted and i was able to remove the disk.

It's really small. A paper clip is about 1mm in diameter (0.039in)
