Has anyone ever used this before?? It is used in greens,beans,etc.. It is actually called Minors bacon base.I don't have a picture of it because I just heard of it today.

I found this about it,

Bacon Base -
Minor's Bacon Base with ham and No MSG added is a savory bacon paste made with USDA inspected bacon and ham. Serve as a southern style seasoning for vegetable favorites such as green beans, spinach, turnips, collard greens, hominy and hash brown potatoes. Adds vitality to all legumes - black eyed peas, red beans and rice, baked beans, white beans, navy beans and lima beans. Use with menu items where bacon is essential such as Quiche Lorraine, Clams Casino, Spinach Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing, Stuffed Baked Potato, Omelets, Dips and even stuffed eggs.

It sounds good!

I called a number on their web sight and it is expensive. I asked my local Publix if they can get it for me.Won't know for a bout a week.It tastes so good!!!! Better than bacon grease.

OOPS,I forgot to thank you Ditter! The chef told me that was what they used in their turnip greens and they are out of this world delicious!1

Never heard of it. You just can't beat the unhealthly strips of bacon in the green beans.

I use a ham flavored base in our green beans and navy beans. Gives good taste, but you have to be careful so it isnt too salty.

it doesn't sound healthy. just convenient if you don't want to fry up a mess o' bacon first.

i'm with you, though. chunks are better. :-)

Someone found it locally and we used it to enhance the ham and bean soup. Good!
