Ballroom Skirt

(Feel free to move this. Not sure where it goes)
I'm a collegiate ballroom dancer at the University of Toledo and recently I have gone up to another level in the collegiate competitions. Because of this I wanted to change up my look to look more like a ballroom dancer. Unfortunately real ballroom skirts/ tops/ dresses can be very expensive. So I figured I'd use another of my hobbies to fix this problem: sewing. Over the summer and into the school year I sewed myself a smooth (waltz, tango, foxtrot) skirt. |
I love the bright pcs in the gussets, very pretty. those dresses are really $$$$$

Beautiful!

Good job!

Very pretty. The colors must look wonderful when you are dancing!
Have you tried looking on ebay or Craig's list? Sometimes you may be able to find evening gowns or prom dresses, even bridal dresses that you can "remake" into a ballroom dancing gown. Do you have any thrift stores nearby? I'd try there, too. Even if a dress seems to be dated, you could use the fancy fabrics. Just a thought. Could luck in your future competitions! I adore ballroom dancing. My favorite...the Viennese Waltz, so graceful. Anita |
I am a ballroom dancer, love your shirt, what did the judges think? love to know. Noella

Wonderful job!!!!

I got tons of compliments from my fellow competitors and we got a lot of callbacks, even ones we were sure we'd never see lol such as silver foxtrot/ v waltz (with more marks in v waltz than foxtrot - crazy!)

You look FABULOUS.
