Barn Quilts

I've always loved the look of barn quilts. I finally found a piece of wood to make one to put on my house. There were three leftover pieces of wood that I made into extras. It was fun to paint a quilt block instead of sewing one!

Love your blocks and colors and that you were able to get 4 blocks out of 1 piece of wood.
Took a class at my LQS a couple of years ago and loved making a barn block. I have mine on the side of my garage as I don't have a barn. |

Where we lived, these on the barns were called Hex signs, and they were for protection/good luck. They were a little more elaborate than just quilt squares and were mostly round. Different symbols meant different things. Like some had birds, some had plants, some just symbols/shapes, etc.

Gosh, I wish my real fabric blocks looked that good. It's beautiful at your front door & I love all the others that you made also.
